Love the food and the staff.. the look and feel need work
Great food and good service
No frills place with very attentive service and solid viet fare. A tad expensive and a relatively small menu that skews towards more American- friendly dishes (e.g., orange chicken) but a solid spot if you need a viet fix and are in the area. (I am Vietnamese fwiw!)
I had a really good experience with Doson Noodle House last night. The Bun Ga and the Spring Rolls with grilled beef were incredible. We also had their version of crab rangoon which was fantastic. 5 stars from me no doubt.
Great rice, and the shrimp are always fried to perfection.
Just moved from California, and so happy to find this restaurant which offers genuinely delicious dishes! The eggplant and shrimp dish was absolutely my favorite! will definitely go back.
Super clean Friendly staff Quick service Good pricingWill return here many times
Dope Pho! Def the best I've had in Nola. Their broth is life juice!
Nice food and great people!
Good food. A little pricey.
Great customer service and my Pho chicken soup was great.
We have been coming here forever. However, lately, portions have been much smaller and service is horrible. We are appalled by our most recent experience. Horrible service and small portions where we left still hungry after $45 later.
best spring rolls ever. had several dishes over the years, all excellent.great service and portions are generous.quiet atmosphere and affordable.
This is where you go in MidCity for Pho.
Food was good, but I thought it was a bit too pricey for what we got.
Real Vietnamese food. Very good food and great service.
Decent beef and chicken pho with maybe too generous portions of meat. I wish they had different cuts of meats to choose from. Prices were decent and portions filling. We didn't try anything else so this review is only about the pho. 3.5 stars
I generally go once every five or six months, craving the food. Service has always been just awful, and the prices are a bit high for the amount of time you have to wait. But last time, food poisoning. So, take a risk. The food *is* good (when it doesn't give you food poisoning), but you have to have plenty of time and patience on hand.
Great food..family biz that does it right. I love the triple delight while my wife loves the pho. Never been disappointed!
Very good food at affordable price..
Friendly staff. But too expensive for too little food.
Excellent food and service, great location. Had a "PICKEY KID" with us and she loved the food...
Online menu hasn't been updated to show current prices
It's one of my go to places for Pho and Spring rolls. Never had a bad meal here, love the food, service is always great. Not much more I can ask for.
Great food & service although it's a little expensive
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. I Would've been better off going to Asian fast food. I received a childlike sized portion. Food I give a 3 out of 10, I paid $ 23.70. It so wasn't worth it.
Good food good service.
So yummy and flavorful! Go!
Great food
The food is fresh and fantastic! I wanted mine a little hotter, but adding Sriracha took away from the delicate balance of flavors in the dish. Chef Doson puts a lot of love and dedication in his work. The place is newly renovated and immaculate! I read one review saying that they could get better Chinese for the price, but my dining companion got some of the Chinese American fare and it was SUPERB! The Crab Rangoon even had REAL CRABMEAT!!! There was no comparison to any "Chinese" in the Metro!
Best spring rolls and fresh shrimp. Also, it wasn't crowded and our food came fast.
They have the best noddles in town. Every time i go in i try something New on the Menu & Everytime it is Delicious
This place has had health code violations in the past and they have not been inspected in *8 years*. You have been warned.
Has some of the best pho ever
The food and flavor was decent but the customer service was HORRIBLE. The waitress was more interested in talking to the owners daughter and showing her things on her phone than to worry about customers. I asked for my leftovers to be prepped to go after I noticed they were soon closing as a courtesy. I was given a to go box first for the summer roll and 5 minutes later after I asked for a container for the PHO I was given one (second time asking). I will not be returning, horrible experience while visiting New Orleans.
Since the moved from oak st many years ago, this place only get better
Has lost its appeal no alcohol any more but can take your own. food is still good-21/2 outta 5
This place is pho sure the best mid city NOLA Pho!
Nice Vietnamese food. Somewhat spartan dining room
I have been here for Ice Tea and lovely Fryed Rice with Shrimp and The Owner of the Doson Noodle House is An Excellent Cook.
Top 5 favourite spots! Family owned joint with authenticity, and great food, good prices.
We have our go-to Vietnamese places but wanted to try something new. Menu was simple with a good selection, and there were brunch and dinner sizes for times of day. Jasmine tea is the best I've had in the city, not watery which was awesome. Loved the coffee, it seems a lot of the Vietnamese places are finding different ways to do their iced coffee since it's probably in such high demand. The food was traditional and flavorful- I had the lemongrass beef. Also noticed they have whole steamed/crispy fish on the menu. Didn't have the appetite for that but I plan on coming back another day with friends. Our waitress was sweet and attentive without being overbearing. The building was pretty simply, but clean and not cramped. All in all, great little restaurant, will be back soon.
I ate there today. The orange shrimp is outstanding. My wife got the the Pho Xao and could not stop talking about how good it was. The service is not always the quickest, but I've never had service bad enough to upset me. Prices are about 2-3 dollars higher than I figure they should be. Still worth it,though. I have never had anything like food poisoning (like others have suggested).
I tried the Won-ton soup, and I'm hooked. It is soooo good! I went back the very next day for another order. The staff was nice!
They don't serve alcohol & wouldn't even allow my boyfriend to drink the beer that he had brought from home, but we saw somebody else drinking! We also weren't given a lot of time to decide on what we wanted. It was also NOT LISTED on the menu that the spring rolls contained shrimp, which I am allergic to. When my food came, I hadn't been informed that it came with a soup that was to be served before it so I was very confused when that was set up first & didn't know what was going on. We were sick for 3 days afterwards.
My absolute favorite for healing, fresh, delicious food. So affordable, and such an amazing value - portions are generous, not mini egg rolls here. I will drive across town for their chicken pho when I'm sick - it's the perfect comfort/healing food. Truly underrated, a local gem.
Really amazing pho. The atmosphere isn't that great but the food is wonderful.
Decent chinese food.. duplings were really good...
Awesome food
We started off with dumplings, then had orange chicken and chicken pho. All delicious! Exemplary service, relaxed atmosphere and great prices. I'm so glad it's right around the corner as I'll be revisiting frequently!
